Through the gardens in Bogor, a nature walk over the tea plantations in the Preanger and a relaxing bike ride in Yogyakarta, we bring you to the east of Java. Here the sunrise rises above Bromo.

Day to day

Day 1 Jakarta - Bogor

Upon arrival for 12.00, our local Jakartan guide welcomes you at Soekarna Hatta International Airport Jakarta. Together you drive directly to Sunda Kelapa where you will walk via the historic sights of old Batavia which ends at Fatahillah Square. Here you take your guide farewell to you and bring the driver to Bogor.

Day 2 Bogor - Malabar

After a relaxed breakfast you start your 2nd day. We Drive back to the center of Bogor and there you will visit the famous botanical Garden of Bogor, Kebun Raya. In 1817, the garden opened its doors and especially in the 19th century the world became famous by the enormous variety of plants and crops but mainly through scientific research on crops such as tea, cassava and the kina tree (where one medication against malaria could develop with it). The Governor-General of Dutch indie also saw the beauty of this park and left his official residence in 1856; ' Outside care ' (current Istana Bogor) build here. After Kebun Raya, you drive via the Puncakpas to Malabar. The route to Malabar is beautiful and it brings you to the higher located area which makes the climate pleasant and cool. In 1896, K.A.R. (Ru) began the development of tea on the theeonderneming ' Malabar ' of R.E. Kerk Hoven (family of mothers side). After an in-depth investigation into the climatic conditions of this area, Balli was convinced that tea would thrive well here. He was right the tea company Malabar became an example for the Nederlandsch - Indische tea cultures. Bosscha was seen as a pioneer and developed into a very influential man in Bandung and the surrounding area. This status is partly confirmed by a street (JL. Bosscha in Bandung) and a Observatory in Lembang who still bear his name after the onafhanklijkheid of Indonesia. And a Observatory in Lembang who after the Independence of Indonesia still bear his name. The current Malabar Agro Estate still belongs to one of Indonesia's best tea suppliers. You arrive late at the simple estate the rest of the afternoon is free to enjoy the tranquility. You can also take a short walk in the area surrounding the hotel. In the evening you will be served an Indonesian meal.

Day 3 Malabar - Garut

(Departure 08.00) A local guide picks you up and you walk through the cemetery of Bosscha to the Malabar tea factory. Get a tour of the factory about tea processing. After tasting the tea you will walk through the beautiful landscape of the Preanger to the hot springs, where you can enjoy relax baths with natural hot water. The guide will take care of the lunch box for you. It is a light hike of 3 hours through beautiful green countryside, along tea fields, kampungs and villages. The Indonesian life of everyday you experience something closer. After lunch you drive to Garut. In the hotsprings of the hotel, the muscles can relax again from the efforts of this morning.

Day 4 Garut - Yogyakarta

(Departure 07.30) The train leaves from Cipeunduey station to Yogyakarta. Your driver will take you to the station and take your luggage into the car, so that you only carry the train with hand baggage. In the Eksekutive class you can enjoy a quiet train and beautiful and especially very changing landscapes. In Yogyakarta, another driver will be ready to bring you to your hotel.

PLEASE NOTE!!! Luggage arrives later than you are in Yogyakarta. It is better to have passports, swimsuits and Keep medication in hand luggage!

Day 5 Yogyakarta

(Departure 08.30) In the morning you discover the crater of Yogyakarta. The Kraton is a walled district in the city within which the palace of Sultan Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X (present Sultan) lies. The Sultan's family still lives in the palace and part of the Sultan's palace is open for viewing. Together with a local guide you walk through the palace and get explanations about the history and current added value of the Sultan for Yogyakarta. in the palace also has regular (often on Sundays) traditional dance and gamelan performances or lessons to be attended by visitors. After visiting the palace you visit Taman Sari (' Scented garden ') The former bathhouse of the Sultan. The water castle like Taman Sari is also called, you realize that Yogyakarta should have been a very large and powerful Sultanate ever. The car then bring you to Prambanan temple. After visiting the temple drive back to your hotel in Yogyakarta to spend the rest of the day free.

Day 6 Yogyakarta

Early departure for a visit to the world's largest Buddhist monument; Borobudur. Discovered by Sir Raffles (founder of Singapore) in 1814 under a thick layer of volcanic ash and vevolgens restored to the present Borobudur. A local guide (the entrance fee and local guide not incl) Belegeleidt you over the complex and gives explanations during a walk on the (4) terraces, along the reliefs and the many stupas that the complex is rich. After the tour you can still take the special atmosphere of this complex at your own pace. After this you will find the car in the parking area and drive you to Candi Rejo village for bike tour. You'll meet your local guide and start your bike ride in this beautifully landscaped area. You cycle (by road) through small villages so that you experience the everyday life closer. After the Fietstoch you will get to the traditional lunch, persecuting you with your guide learning of traditional music of Gamelan. Then drive back to Yogyakarta. Free to spend the rest of the day. At the end of the day the driver will take your luggage again. Tomorrow you travel in the train with only a nachttas and hand luggage. Travel papers, money and medication are not left in your luggage.

Day 7 Yogyakarta - Bromo

A car from the hotel bring you to the station (the driver often speaks English limited). The train leaves at 07.15 in the direction of Surabaya. However, you step out in Mojokerto, here your driver will wait for you again and you drive directly to Cemore Lawang (Bromo). Bromo is of an overwhelming beauty. The steep slopes of the mountain lie in a huge crater (Lagat Pasir) which looks like a sandy plain and is filled with volcanic (black) sand. Actually, Bromo is a volcano in the volcano. Tengger the people in this environment, the Tenggerezen are descendants of the Hindu-Budhistische Majapahit Kingdom. The locals, are mostly peasants who edit the fertile slopes in the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru national Park but still they adhere to the Hindu principles. Every year during the Kasodo party the volcano is honoured by throwing sacrifices in the crater. If you arrive early, you can still join the sunset at your hotel. This pageant is also very worthwhile and gives a good picture of the sand area where Bromo is located. As soon as the sun is under, the icy cold in hum takes warm clothing to visit this place.

Day 8 Bromo - Kalibaru

(Departure 03.30) In the early morning a Jeep is ready. The Jeep will drive you to the viewpoint of where you await the sunrise and become a participant in a beautiful spectacle of the sun and Bromo/Semeru. Then the Jeep will bring you to the parking area of Bromo where you will go on foot or with the local horses to rent to the foot of Bromo and then through the stairs at the crater mouth comes. After your visit to Bromo you go back to the hotel for breakfast and check out. A car is ready again to bring you to Kalibaru where you arrive in the late afternoon.

Day 9 Kalibaru - Lovina

(Departure in comunication with chauffeur) This day a quiet start. After breakfast the car is ready and it takes you to a plantation nearby. East Java is well-known plantation area. Here you will find extensive plantations that are reminiscent of earlier times. On the plantation you can be guided by and local speaking guide (optional), which explains the production and processing of local products such as rubber, Gula Jawa, cocoa and coffee. After this you drive to the port for the crossing to Bali. Bali Direct to Lovina

Day 10 Lovina - Ubud

(departure circa 06.00; The hotel informs you about pick up time and location) You are ready at the agreed time and location and you usually sail with a traditional wooden boat to the place where the Dolphins swim. A dolphin tour is a very tourist attraction. Even in the low season your boat will not be the only boat looking for the dolphins. You forget all the boats when you see the Dolphins for your boat and especially hear. They swim in rap tempo and play (jumping for your boat along) as if you were the landmark. After the dolphin tour you go back to the hotel for breakfast and then departure to the inland from Bali to Ubud. On the way, the beautiful landscape of the inlands of Bali is passing by. At the Bratan Lake you stop for a visit to Ulu Danutempel. Also called Candikuning (officially, ' Candikuning ' is the place where the temple is located). The ' Meru ' (refers to Mount Meru, the ' Olympus '/' Nirvana ' of Hinduism) of eleven roofs is a special aspect of this temple next to the very atmospheric, serene location. After the temple visit you can still stop at the fruit market in Bedugul. Try the Terong Belanda, Rambutan or Mangustan once, these fruit varieties are less well known in Europe. You drive further to the beautiful rice terraces of Jatiluwih (there must be entrance fee for this area IDR 15,000 p.p.). Jatiluwih shows that green is in many degrees and on sunny days it is (almost) dazzling beautiful. A cup of coffee or lunch in one of the many occasions is definitely advisable. The nearby Pura Luhur is the last stop for you to drive further to Ubud. Pura Luhur is a small temple located on the slopes of Mount Batakau. It is dedicated to Maha Dewa the patron saint of the mountain. After that you drive to Ubud where you arrive at around 15.00 the rest of the day/evening is free to spend. Ubud is a place where you can see most of them on foot. Your driver is saying goodbye to you. After you have checked in, he will drive back to Java.

Day 11 Ubud

There is a lot to experience In Ubud. You can go to various museums (the house of Antonio Blanco is highly recommended even for the non art lover) or shop on the local market. You can take a Sawah walk or visit Sacred Monkey Forest (Beware of your stuff the monkeys are very aggressive and grabbing everything they think is edible!). And don't forget the many spas! The day you come through easily. In the evening you can enjoy a traditional Balinese meal – Bebek Tutu (= Duck). Please note! Often needs to be ordered a day earlier! Or a Balinese dance performance; Highly recommended are Kecak Fire dance or Legong dance or Barong dance but there is a lot of choice.

Day 12 Ubud - Sanur

(Departure 09.00) In the morning he brings you to the village 'Batu Bulan' known for the Barong dance. In a small amphitheater you bring a colorful, cheerful Barong dance show (entrance not included). Then you drive to the village 'Yeh Puluh' where you visit a small, less visited but beautifully located temple called 'Candi Yeh Puluh'. Here is a small charming cafe for a short stop. Then you drive via Tampaksiring where you visit Gunung Kawi and Tirta Empul water palace to Sanur for your last days filled with relaxation in this quiet seaside resort. Sanur is a nice seaside resort with many authentic locations. Go for dinner at Pasar Sindhu in the evening, or have lunch in the organic warung Santai. Rent a bike and discover via the extensive boulevard how a Balinese enjoys the beach in the late afternoon. Early in the morning there are often ceremonies by the sea where sacrificial baskets are laid at sea to calm the sea gods.
