Java – Bali Highlight Tour

Arrival Jakarta. Your driver is waiting for you at the airport (Soekarna Hatta).
At an early (morning/early afternoon) arrival you will go directly to Sunda Kelapa and Kota Tua (Fatahilah Square, wayang popen museums) for a Jakarta city tour. After a lunch or drink in the nostalgic (pricey, but worth it because of the beautiful interior; you imagined yourself in former times) Batavia café then to the hotel.

If not done yesterday, after breakfast (8.30) the car will bring you to ' Sunda Kelapa'-haven. Then to Fatahillah Square, a beautiful historical part of the city. Here you can drink coffee at Café Batavia (pricey, but worth it because of the beautiful interior; you imagined yourself in earlier times). You will also drive past the historical Dutch warehouses. Then via the highway to Bogor.

(departure 8.00) after breakfast depart to Kebun Raya where you can take a walk through this famous garden and where you can see ' outside care ' (the former Gouveneurshuis). Outside care is not to be seen inside. After lunch you will travel over the Puncak Pass to Bandung. If there is still enough time you can visit the Angklung school (please inform yourself first if there is a show only with sufficient signups) (optional)

(departure 8.00) After breakfast departure to the crater Lake ' Kawah Putih ' where we leave the car in the parking lot and where you go to the crater with the local transport. You can walk around the lake and admire its beautiful colours in various light traps and you can experience the activities of a volcano close by. Then you go back to the car again. You drive along so many strawberry fields that a stop at a strawberry farm cannot stay out. On the farm you pick your own strawberries for a refreshing juice. After a short break through to a bamboo factory after which we finish on ' Gambung ' the tea plantation from the famous book of Hella Haasse ' Lords of the Tea '.

PLEASE NOTE!!! End day the driver will take your luggage again. Tomorrow you travel in the train with only a nachttas and hand luggage. Travel papers, money and medication are not left in your luggage.

You will be picked up at your hotel in Bandung and brought to the train station in Bandung (transfer).
In about 7 hours you can travel by train from Bandung to Yogyakarta by the beautiful preanger with its many vegetable gardens, villages and rice terraces. Especially the first hours are breathtakingly beautiful, you sit on the tip of your chair. You will travel in the so-called eksekutif or business class with air conditioning (often is quite coolly adjusted, thin sweater with it). A lunch is served (payable on site). Drinks, snacks and sweets are available for sale. You arrive in the afternoon in Kuto. The driver awaits you and brings you to your hotel in the vicinity of Borobudur in about 2 hours.

Early wake up for your visit to the world's largest Buddhist monument, Borobudur. A local guide (not including) Belegeleidt you over the complex and gives explanations during a walk on the (4) terraces, along the reliefs and the many stupas that the complex is rich. After the tour you can still take the special atmosphere of this complex at your own pace. After visiting Borobudur (if you stay at homestay back to your homestay for cooking course at the homestay). If you stay at hotel after visiting Borobudur return to hotel for breakfast after breakfast you are driving to Candirejo Village for cooking course. After lunch you drive to Yogyakarta via Mendut Temple. In Yogyakarta consult with driver for Insense program in Yogyakarta.

Optional. Visit your evening Puriwisata: You can have a delicious Javanese dinner here and witness a part of the Ramayana show (through your chauffeur or guide reservation). The performance takes from 20.00 hours to 22.00 hours.

(Departure in consultation with chauffeur) In the morning first a Yogyakarta city tour. The car picks you up and brings you to the sights of the Sultanate. You begin in the crater. This is the Sultan's palace; You can visit the crater Palace. After this you will go to Taman Sari (water castle). In the days of the Sultanate this was used as a bathhouse for the Sultan and his entourage. After a coffee break the driver will bring you to a batik studio. Then there are some stops that you can make eg. To Kota delisted (Silver Forge), the Pasar Burung (the bird market; where many birds and fish but also uitheemsere animals as geckos and snakes are traded), this can be supplemented or reduced in consultation with the driver. The afternoon is again free to spend.

(Depart in consultation with chauffeur) after breakfast the car bring you to visit the Volcano de Merapi, an unknown area, narrow roads and deep green landscapes (very fertile because of the eruptions over the years). The driver takes you to the slope, where you can see the stolen lava that flowed from the slope. Then go to the Hindu temple complex Prambanan, following you drive to hotel you in Yogyakarta. End day the driver will take your luggage again. Tomorrow you travel in the train with only a nachttas and hand luggage. Travel papers, money and medication are not left in your luggage.

A car from the hotel drives you to the train station. By morning train you leave Central Java behind you and travel to East-Java. You're on a train direct to Malang. At Malang train station a car is waiting to pick you up and drive you to the hotel.

After a city tour in Malang you drive towards Grumblo. Try to arrive before sunset to photograph the beautiful view of Semeru and Bromo. Once the sun is under, it becomes icy cold in Bromo, warm clothing is definitely recommendable!

(departure 03.00) with a Jeep you drive to the viewpoint (Pananjakan) to admire the sunrise above Bromo and Semuru. Then you will drive with Jeep back to the Bromo itself and you can walk up the stairs to see the crater of something closer. After the Bromo visit you go back to the hotel for breakfast then you drive to Kalibaru. The rest of the day to spend free

You have all day in Kalibaru. You can make trips in the surrounding area, including a large company (plantation Glenn More). Glenn More is a private enterprise. Coffee, rubber and cocoa are cultivated. The plantation also has a more than 100 year old factory (where the old way is still being worked). On Sundays the plantation is not to be visited. Much smaller is the plantation of Ibu Harni, there you can also make a nice tour including coffee and tasting various delicacies. You can arrange this on the spot via the driver. The best outing is a kampungtour. You will go on a horse-drawn carriage trip through small villages near Kalibaru. You will see various types of house industry, including the look butchers. Also nice: A piece with the local train to following village.

After breakfast departure to Ketapang for the crossing to Bali. The route takes you past a traditional market where you can still buy typical Javanese herbs, then through to the port. On Bali we drive directly to Pemuteran. Take your driver after drop at the hotel in Pemuteran farewell to you.

Snorkel Excursion Menjangan Island. Beware!! This is a group tour. You are not (always) the only participants. At 09.00 am You are ready at the dive center (details follow later). From here, a car will take you to the boat. It is about 45 min. sailing to Menjangan Island. In the vicinity of the island you snorkel on 2 different spots for about an hour further there is a lunch then you will sail back to the port on Bali where you arrive about 15.00 and you'll find your way back to the hotel.

(departure 09.00) In the morning a car is ready with a Balinese driver and you depart for the interior of Bali. Along the way, several crater lakes provide a beautiful landscape. At the Bratan-Lake we stop for a visit to Ulu Danutempel. A little further on the route are the beautiful rice terraces of Jatiluwih. Jatiluwih shows that green is in many degrees and on sunny days it is (almost) dazzling beautiful. After that you drive to Ubud where you get around 14.00 the rest of the day is free to spend. Ubud is a place where you can see most of them on foot.

(Departure 08.00) In the morning you will be picked up for a bike ride in the area of Ubud. It is a private tour where you will experience the Balinese life of close proximity. The interior of Bali is very hilly/mountainous and cycling here is mainly downhill. However, it is a beautiful journey through beautiful scenery

(Departure 9.00) A car is ready to transfer to Sanur for your last days filled with relaxation in this quiet seaside resort. If you still want to plan activities, Sanur is central enough to organize it yourself.

A car takes you to the hotel at the desired time and drives you to Ngurah Rai, airport of Denpasar for flight to Europe
