Java and Bali today

Arrival in Jakarta! After passport control and then the luggage strap for the suitcases follows 1 last customs control of only the suitcases (and you give here the Customs form that you have entered about to enter). And then through the doors outward. Our driver is ready here. You can walk after the doors to the left and to the right so check sides before you think there is no one. The driver has a paging board in his hands; A sign with your name and our logo on it. After the meeting you will go to the car and drive to the hotel. Here you arrive in the late evening (depending on traffic pressure). The rest of the evening is free at leisure.

Departure at 8.30 AM for City Tour with a local guide. You drive to Sunda Kelapa harbour. From here you walk via Pasar Ikan (One of the Poorest District in Jakarta) and walk past the historic sites in this area to Kota Tua, Fatahillah square. The local guide joins you during the walk and explains the sights you pass. Your guide will say goodbye in Fatahillah Square. You can independently visit one of the museum and nostalgic Cafe Batavia. When you're finished we drive you to Sukabumi.

Today a day to relax. The surrounding area is fantastic and lends itself perfectly for a nice walk (if desired you can independently schedule a very nice Kampung walk with a local guide through the hotel. The guide knows the way but does not always speak English. Optional, not included). The car and the driver are near and standby.

Again a relaxing start to the day. Then departure to Bandung on the way we make a stop at the special ' Gunung Padang '. In the afternoon you arrive in Bandung where you would like to take an environmental walk along historic buildings in the surroundings of your hotel's Art Deco style. Via Jl Braga (near Hotel) was once the (nightlife) heart of the city you walk a lap of about 45 minutes.

Today We visit the ' White Crater Lake ' (' Kawah Putih ') south of Bandung. At Kawah Putih you travel from the general parking lot to the local public transport to the lake. Kawah Putih is a turquoise, green and blue colored crater of the volcano ' Patuha '. A beautiful lake where you can make a walk around the lake (can not be entirely round). In the parking lot, the bus and a strawberry farm are waiting for you to pick your strawberries for a refreshing gravy, and a bamboo factory will come to you in Malabar. The ride up to Malabar sometimes gives beautiful photo moments where tea plantation and Aarbeienboerderijen Alternate. The Malabar Estate has grown great under Mr. Bosscha leadership. A name that you will encounter in this environment much. Bosscha has ensured that the production of Malabar came at a high level and was among the best quality of Indonesia (and still belongs). Once arrived (around 16.00 hours) there is time to refresh yourself. A delicious Indonesian meal is then served.

(Departure 08.00) A local guide picks you up and you walk through the cemetery of Bosscha to the Malabar tea factory. Get a tour of the factory about tea processing. After tasting the tea you will walk through the beautiful landscape of the Preanger to the hot springs, where you can enjoy relax baths with natural hot water. The guide will take care of the lunch box for you. It is a light hike of 3 hours through beautiful green countryside, along tea fields, kampungs and villages. The Indonesian life of everyday you experience something closer. After lunch you drive to Garut. In the hotsprings of the hotel, the muscles can relax again from the efforts of this morning.

Before the break of down you’ll depart for a soft hike up Papandayan Volcano. It’s early and you'll receive a breakfast box from the hotel. You meet your local guide on route to the parking area of Papandayan volcano. There you start a beautifull soft hike. Your efforts will be rewarded with an exclusive (not many tourists around) breathtaking sun rise. When the sun is up you walk further in this area and experience the beauty of an active volcano. The car is waiting at the parking are, if desired we take you to a different area where you can have another softike of approx 2 hours though stretches of green rice terraces or we drive you back to the hotel in Garut where you can have the afternoon to relax.

In the morning we drive you to the train station for your train to Yogyakarta. It is a 1,5 hour drive from Garut. In Yogyakarta different transport picks you up and drives you to the hotel. Your luggage will arrive later on the same day.

(Departure 08.30) In the morning you discover the crater of Yogyakarta. The Kraton is a walled district in the city within which the palace of Sultan Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X (present Sultan) lies. The Sultan's family still lives in the palace and part of the Sultan's palace is open for viewing. Together with a local guide you walk through the palace and get explanations about the history and current added value of the Sultan for Yogyakarta. in the palace also has regular (often on Sundays) traditional dance and gamelan performances or lessons to be attended by visitors. After visiting the palace you visit Taman Sari (' Scented garden ') The former bathhouse of the Sultan. The water castle like Taman Sari is also called, you realize that Yogyakarta should have been a very large and powerful Sultanate ever. The car then bring you to Prambanan temple. After visiting the temple drive back to your hotel in Yogyakarta to spend the rest of the day free.

Optional. Visit you in the evening Puriwisata: You can have a delicious Javanese dinner and witness a part of the Ramayana show (through your chauffeur or guide reservation). The performance takes from 20.00 hours to 22.00 hours.

Early in the morning departure (05.00) for a visit to the world's largest Buddhist monument; Borobudur. Discovered by Sir Raffles (founder of Singapore) in 1814 under a thick layer of volcanic ash and vevolgens restored to the present Borobudur. A local guide (the entrance fee and local guide not incl) Belegeleidt you over the complex and gives explanations during a walk on the (4) terraces, along the reliefs and the many stupas that the complex is rich. After the tour you can still take the special atmosphere of this complex at your own pace. After this you will find the car in the parking area and drive you to Candi Rejo village for bike tour. You'll meet your local guide and start your bike ride in this beautifully landscaped area. You cycle (by road) through small villages so that you experience the everyday life closer. After the Fietstoch you will get to the traditional lunch, persecuting you with your guide learning of traditional music of Gamelan. Then drive back to Yogyakarta. Free to spend the rest of the day.

At the end of the day the driver will take your luggage again. Tomorrow you travel in the train with only a nachttas and hand luggage. Travel papers, money and medication are not left in your luggage.

A travel day. To get from Central to East Java is quite a distance and we will use this day to pass the miles. A car drives you to the train station of Yogyakarta where you get on the train to the East of Java. You get off at Malang, the car is waiting with your luggage, we drive you straight to the hotel. If desired we can still have a short Malang city tour.

(departure 8.00) You leave by car to (Coban Pelangi Waterfall after visit waterfall drives to) Glubug Klakah the starting point of a nice relaxing walk of about 4 hours. You walk through the kampongs of this area and gain more insight into the local (farmers) life. You can taste traditional local snacks and communicate with local people. Like many areas in Java, all of this can still be experienced in breathtakingly beautiful nature. After this you will back to Malang.

Today we visit Bromo this can be done at sun rise then departure is 00.00AM or at a later time. You of course miss the sun rise but it will be less growded at Bromo.

At the discussed time we depart from the hotel. When on the sunrise tour we first drive to the viewpoint of Mount Pananjakan to await the sunrise from the viewpoint or at a closeby cafe enjoying a coffee. Once the sun has risen we drive you by jeep to visit the black Sea of Sand and Mt Bromo. After parking near Mt. Bromo (this is where you start if without sun rise), it is a 45 minutes walk to his crater rim. Once you reach the rim of the caldera, you can explore the area a bit or rest and enjoy the view. Back at the car we have one more amazing stop in this area; the contrasting green savannah then we continue to Bondowoso. Keep inmind it will be another short night!

Please be aware sulphur is a hazard good and people with asthma should be cautious. At midnight (00.00) the car will drive you to the parking area of Ijen which is the start point of your stunning and truly breath taking midnight (soft) hike to the top of this volcano. Your local guide will be one of the sulphur miners from Ijen. He does not speak much English but he knows the roads blind folded. Before you are rewarded with the beauty of Ijens Crater lake and Blue Fire you do need to climb the steep hill of Ijen. A visit to Ijen will be the icing on the cake of your Java experience. Back in the car we drive you to Bali. After check in to the hotel the car (driver) returns to Java - end of transport service.

Today you are making a snorkel excursion to Menjangan Island. In the morning you leave (along with others this is a groepsexcusrie) on a boat towards Menjangan on the way are the first snorkles pots. Then go to the island where you can, snorkel, walk and enjoy the beach. Then you sail back.A relaxing morning at the sea, where the underwater life is central, and perhaps the dolphins are a good family and come and watch the boat. The afternoon is free at leisure.

Today you travel to the interior of Bali. In about 1 hour you drive from the coast to the higher Munduk. A local guide will be waiting for you (at the hotel) and you will leave immediately after arrival for a beautiful walk of about 3 hours in this green hilly area. You walk from the hotel (often it is too early to check in but you can leave your luggage) to 2 waterfalls in the area. A beautiful walk through green and forested area, over small paths and river banks. Also in this more deserted area live people who greet and welcome you friendly. You do not really encounter wildlife (maybe butterflies and birds) but you do encounter fragrant clove trees, unrecognizable vanilla plants and other local plants and crops. After the walk you return to the hotel where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset from the sun terrace.

In the morning a car is ready with a Balinese driver and you depart for the interior of Bali. On the way, several crater lakes provide a beautiful landscape. At the Bratan-Lake we stop for a visit to Ulu Danu tempel. The inhabitants of Bedugul worship in this temple Dewi Danu, the goddess of the lake. Popularly, the temple and the fruit market in Bedugul are indicated as Candi Kuning. The route proceeds passed some beautiful terraced rice fields at Jatiluwih. If desired and time allows it you can make a walk in the fields (at personal expense it can be arranged on the spot). Then to Ubud.

In the morning (9am) local English speaking guide will pick you up for an exclusive Ubud surroundings tour. The activities of this day differ per day. If there is a Hindu ceremony close by you'll be brought there otherwise you visit Ubud city. You most likely visit a Barong dance performance, a local Balinese house in the area of Pura Yeh Puluh and Gunung Kawi (more than 500 steps lead to this temple located in a small valley) and the sacred baths of Tirta Empul in Tampaksiring.

(Departure 9.00) A car is ready to transfer to Sanur for your last days filled with relaxation in this quiet seaside resort. If you still want to plan activities, Sanur is central enough to organize it yourself.

A car takes you from the hotel at the desired time and drives you to Ngurah Rai, airport of Denpasar for the return flight to Europe.
